Business Strategy for ADHDers
Hey there, I'm Sky! As an ADHDer I have always been passionate about business and doing things my way. It wasn't until later in my adult years that I finally had the balls to take the leap, ditch the people pleasing, give fear the middle finger and start my own business!
With four kids under five (one with ADHD and Autism) I quit my 9-5 government job, encouraged my husband to do the same and we went all in on creating my own psychology practice.
What started as an idea has now become a 7-figure business, allowing my husband and I to have more time with the kids, holidays, choosing our own hours and has set us up financially in investment property.
Now I want to help you too. Because here's the thing if my ADHD brain can do it, so can yours!
I am here to teach you step by step how to start and grow your business in a way that suits your ADHD brain. It's time to stop doing things the neurotypical way and start doing them your way.
This podcast is the perfect place for you to connect, learn, and see that your ADHD business dreams get to become a reality. So come and hang out and let me share my journey with you!

And I guarantee you, if you constantly practice this, what you will start to notice is when the negative starts to show up, it will have, you'll now have like an alternate route, right? Where you're like, Oh, I actually don't want to go down that path. Oh, but I can go that way. You'll have a choice. I am so excited to be finally back talking to you all. Like it has been a red hot minute. So if you are new to this space, welcome. My focus, instead of just being on broad mental health, I've really kind of niched down a little bit in terms of ADHD. And so what I want to do every week is answer your questions about ADHD. Today, I'm going to ask you to shift your focus. You know, in life, we're hardwired negative, we're hardwired for problem. And so if we are running from automatic pilot throughout our day, we are pretty much focusing on the negative shit. 24 seven, 80 percent of our thoughts are negative. We're worried. We're busy. We're overwhelmed. Like we're just consumed by all the shit. And it actually takes conscious work and conscious practice for us to notice things that are. Good, or that we love, or that feel good, or that we enjoy, or that kind of fit a different story. You know, our brain creates stories all day, every day, and it will look for evidence and information to support that story by filtering, deleting, and distorting any other information that doesn't fit. So I want you to spend some time A day, an absolute week, if you can people, focusing on things that you could be grateful for. And I don't just mean walking around and going, Oh, I'm grateful that, you know, the sun is shining fucking great, but let's be specific. You know, I'm grateful when I'm walking down the street and I'm noticing the sun on my face, that it makes me feel alive and it makes me feel invigorated. And I realized that I can, you know, do whatever I want to do and whatever I can do in life. Right, like we want to break it down and be really specific, you know, instead of I'm grateful for my body It's like wow, like I can't believe that my body is so miraculous that it has created for children and Carries me through every single day that I am living what an amazing fucking mechanism that is or being right? Like really, really get specific and feel it. Like when you're practicing the gratitude, put your hand on your heart. Like close your eyes if you can to connect to yourself and really feel into the gratitude that you are speaking. Because I don't just want you to think it in your head. I want you to say it out loud because saying it out loud is going to distract from anything that goes, but yes, but yes, but say it out loud, hand on heart and really feel into it and make some habits around it. Like when you wake up in the morning, practicing it, you know, for me, it's in between every client. I reset, I take a breath. I sometimes practice my gratitude, right? It might be when you hop in the car, it might be of a nighttime, like set up some ritualistic times throughout the day. where you are going to practice this skill. Because it is a skill, as I said, we are innately hardwired negative. You need to practice the skill of being positive, of being grateful, of being joyful, of being compassionate, of being kind, of insert any other thing in there that sounds positive. So take some time, give it a go, and I guarantee you, If you constantly practice this, what you will start to notice is when the negative starts to show up, it will, you'll now have like an alternate route, right? Where you're like, Oh, I actually don't want to go down that path. Oh, but I can go that way. You'll have a choice. So practice it. Let me know how you go. And even in the group, share with me, like, what are you grateful for?
