Business Strategy for ADHDers
Hey there, I'm Sky! As an ADHDer I have always been passionate about business and doing things my way. It wasn't until later in my adult years that I finally had the balls to take the leap, ditch the people pleasing, give fear the middle finger and start my own business!
With four kids under five (one with ADHD and Autism) I quit my 9-5 government job, encouraged my husband to do the same and we went all in on creating my own psychology practice.
What started as an idea has now become a 7-figure business, allowing my husband and I to have more time with the kids, holidays, choosing our own hours and has set us up financially in investment property.
Now I want to help you too. Because here's the thing if my ADHD brain can do it, so can yours!
I am here to teach you step by step how to start and grow your business in a way that suits your ADHD brain. It's time to stop doing things the neurotypical way and start doing them your way.
This podcast is the perfect place for you to connect, learn, and see that your ADHD business dreams get to become a reality. So come and hang out and let me share my journey with you!

Because sometimes what we find is the external and the internal barriers come up together. So maybe for you, it is a problem external to you. Maybe it can be given to someone else, but maybe your mindset is such around like, nobody's going to do it as good as me. Everybody's going to fuck it up. It's going to become a bigger problem for me. Like there will be stories around. All of the things that are keeping you stuck and blocked. I am so excited to be finally back talking to you all. Like it has been a red hot minute. So if you are new to this space, welcome. My focus, instead of just being on broad mental health, I've really kind of niched down a little bit in terms of ADHD. And so what I want to do every week is answer your questions. What I tend to find as the psychologist, as the coach, just as a human like you, right, is that when we go to think about the concept of like resetting our lives, what generally shows up for us is problem or tasks that we feel like need to be completed or done or signed off on before we can actually do whatever it is that we need to do. Like is the thing that we want to do to reset. And what can happen is over time, those tasks that we have made so insurmountable, they can get bigger, they can get more problematic. They can create more problems of their own. So after a while, it feels like there's so many speed bumps in the way that you'll never, ever going to be able to reset. So I want you to take some time today and I want you to sit with yourself and I want you to ask yourself, like, what are the speed bumps or what are the road bumps? However, you want to language that. That, that you are putting in between you and the reset and the thing that you want to do. And then what I want you to do is I want you to get really clear on, is this speed bump internal, which means is it to do with me? Is it to do with the way that I'm thinking about something? Is it to do with the way that I'm feeling? Cause I'm trying to avoid a feeling. Is it to do that with the way that like I generally show up, which might be like I'm an avoider or I'm a procrastinator or I'm a self sabotage. So like, is it to do? And if it is, then what can you do within yourself to support you to minimize or even like get some support around those internal barriers so that they no longer need to be a block for you to move forward? Then what I want you to do is I want you to look external to yourself. And I want you to ask yourself, what are the external barriers or road bumps that I am putting in my way so that I can't do the thing? And then again, I want you to break them down. Like, is it a me problem? And if it's not a you problem, cross it off, fuck it off straight away. Okay. It's not your stuff. Let it go. Yes. It's a process, but it's a practice. The next thing, is it something that I've been avoiding, but I actually within myself need to get done. Great. Write it down. Create small goals. Give yourself some, like the smart goals, like a timeframe around when you're going to get that shit done. And if you need us for support, Or maybe the thing in front of you, which is what often shows up for me is something that you could possibly delegate to someone else. Like you could actually literally give the problem away to be solved by someone else. Right, then go do that. You know, because sometimes what we find is the external and the internal barriers come up together. So maybe for you, it is a problem external to you. Maybe it can be given to someone else, but maybe your mindset is such around like nobody's gonna do it as good as me. Everybody's gonna fuck it up. It's gonna become a bigger problem for me. Like there will be stories around all the time. All of the things that are keeping you stuck and blocked. So I want you to go away today and I really want you to take some time with this because really, at the end of the day, what stops us in life is us. Do we need support around that? Abso fucking lutely. Is it your fault? No. Is it your responsibility? Yes. But you get to ask for help, and you get to ask for support, and you get to check in what's my stuff and what's not my stuff. So that's your challenge for today. Where is the speed bump? What is it looking like? Is it internal? What do I need to be working on? Is it external? Do I need to give it away? Do I need some help with it? Or do I need to delegate? And then let's go get some shit done people.
