Because if you want things to be different, they can, but we need to choose it. And the way to choose it is by being super, super clear, writing it out. Having a structure, having a timeframe around when you're doing these things and when you're going to achieve them by. I am so excited to be finally back talking to you all. Like it has been a red hot minute. So if you are new to this space, welcome. My focus, instead of just being on broad mental health, I've really kind of niched down a little bit in terms of ADHD. And so what I want to do every week is answer your questions. So while this audio in itself is actually going to be really short, the task itself is probably going to be really big. And here's the thing that we often do, right? We get to the end of the year and we have all of these wonderful ideas and we make these New Year's resolutions and we're like, Yay, I'm going to like lose 50 kilos or I'm going to move to Thailand or I'm going to change my career and we get really excited about the thing and we talk about it and then it goes January 1st and we're committed and then it likes January 7th and then like we're fucked and the old routines back and we haven't planned anything out and we're still doing the same old shit right now. He's the reason why most of us. fall down is because that we don't come from this new year's resolution from a place of being super clear, from planning, from being organized, from allowing our kind of logical, rational brain to also support us. Right? We come from a place of being really high on an emotion, feeling really excited, something new, it's all changing, New Year, and we kind of just run with the vibe and the minute the feeling wears off, the New Year's resolution wears off. Now, if we start to plan now and we start to think about our year ahead, And we start to think about our goal and what we want to achieve, and then we actually start to write it out as a plan, like an action plan, then we are going to be more likely to not only do the thing, but achieve the thing, because not only do you have a goal, you have a way of achieving it. So here's what I want you to do. I really want you to spend some time and the first part of the activity is just to free write in those beautiful feelings about what you want. What do you want to be doing? What do you want to be thinking? What do you want to be feeling? How is it going to be different? What are your goals? What are your dreams? What are your desires? Like we're going to free write it out for like, I don't know, five, 10 minutes. If you want to go longer, go for fucking gold. But then what we're going to do is we're going to re. Read our dream and we're going to go. Okay in this What are the things that we need to create goals around and then let's get super clear on what this looks like. So for example, if it's, I'm going to change my career, it might be okay. So in January, I'm going to brainstorm like what I actually want to achieve. Then in February, I'm going to apply for, I don't know, TAFE or the uni or the new learning. And then maybe it might be okay. Then in June, when I'm like kind of on a roll with that, then I'm actually going to look at some volunteer work around the work that I'm studying. And then maybe the goal is then by next December. That'll be when I'm applying for jobs in the area that I want to be applying for them in. Right, do you see how we broke it down into step by step and maybe if it's a health goal instead of like yeah I'm gonna go to the gym every day, and I'm gonna be healthy It might be okay in January I'm gonna research all of the gyms in the area and I'm gonna sign up to one Then I'm gonna commit to one day a week because Thursday is super easy and instead of deleting bad foods I'm actually just gonna start introducing two healthy foods a week And I'm gonna do that for two months And then I'm gonna check in and then I'm gonna add an extra goal and an extra day Right? Like we're breaking it down and we're having a really clear plan. This is what I want you to be doing. So have some fun with it, write it out, get excited by it. Because if you want things to be different, they can, but we need to choose it. And the way to choose it is by being super, super clear, writing it out, having a structure, having a timeframe around when you're doing these things and when you're going to achieve them by checking in with yourself once a week and having a team meeting to make sure that you're on track. Right. Like including some of these beautiful new daily habits in your week so that you get to have different and create accountability. Like maybe you have a coach or you can use the Facebook group or you have a friend or you have someone that you can also check in with to kind of let them know where you're at with your target so they can support you and keep you on track. Like let me know how you go with this because this is a really big task. It's also really exciting.
